Scott Davis Scott Davis, better known to the kids in the Bay Area as
The Culinary Dude, has been teaching child and adult cooking classes both on his
own as well as having been a resident chef/educator at Whole Foods in Los
Altos, Ca. and ITK (In The Kitchen) Culinary, in Sausalito, Ca. for the past 5
years. Past employment includes head chef at Los Angeles's Baby Blues BBQ and San Francisco's Olive
Bar. Davis’ degrees in both Early
Childhood Education and Culinary Arts are a combination of his two
passions. His philosophy for all ages is to provide a hands-on, developmental approach to teaching and education in the
kitchen. “It is my belief that by teaching people how to cook for themselves,
they are less likely to eat fast or junk food and develop a better concept of
what healthy food and proper portions are. The goal of my classes is to teach
and inspire all participants' imaginations in the kitchen and to encourage
their creativity as they learn a variety of cooking styles and techniques
including, sauté, simmer, slice, bake and blend." There
is also an emphasis on providing skills that will carry over for the students
use outside of the class. |
